The neighbourhood is quickly earning a reputation for literally bringing closer family members by providing a variety of flexible housing choices.
Noeline Kennedy and daughter Melanie Andrews don't just call each other family. They are also neighbours.
Enrolled nurse Noeline and daughter Melanie are now each the proud owners of adjoining three-bedroom Gallery Collection homes at the estate.
Ms Kenndy said they were instantly attracted to the wide range of housing options and flexibility of design.
"We really do get the best of both worlds." she said.
"We'll always be there for each other as mother-daughter neighbours, yet we can still enjoy having our own homes which reflect our individual personalities and tastes."
Area manager in charge of 15 Subway stores, Ms Andrews said there was no better way of unwinding after a long day on the road than by enjoying an afternoon walk through The Sanctuary Park.
"It really is my ultimate sanctuary away from the ups and downs of my day-to-day work, and gives Mum and me the opportunity to chill out in a natural and relaxed environment." she said.
There is also a lot to love about Woodlands for the Mundy family, and Cath Mundy is the first to admit that a 'mother really does know best'.
After visiting her mother's home on the development, the professional singer-songwriter and her musician partner Jay decided to relocate from England.
They were the first family at Woodlands to build a home on a bushland block after purchasing a 4443m2 site with views across to the mountain ranges.
Ms Mundy said the attraction was so strong the couple and their 14-month- old son Joshua spent the past 12 months under her mother Barbara's roof during construction.
"While we've enjoyed our time in London, we have now discovered Woodlands which is truly a vibrant and welcoming community, and Jay and Joshua are so thrilled that we are here." she said.
Project director Greg Tupicoff said he was not surprised more and more extended families were choosing to live at Woodlands.
"Families like this are opening new and exciting chapters because Woodlands offers one of the widest ranges of living options in the area." he said.
Upon completion in 2011, the 137-hectare community will be home to more than 3,500 people with 30 hectares of open space including a 17-hectare environmental corridor and seven kilometres of cycle and pedestrian paths.
